Board of Architects (BOA)
BOA administers the Architects Act in Singapore. The Architects Act
1991 sets out provisions to provide for the registration of architects,
the regulation of architectural qualifications, the practice of architecture
by registered individuals and the supply of architectural services
by corporations.
Building & Construction Authority (BCA)
BCA develops and regulates Singapore's building and construction industry.
Energy Market Authority (EMA)
EMA drives the liberalised electricity and gas industries in Singapore
and facilitate fair play in the industries.
Housing & Development Board (HDB)
HDB provides affordable homes of high quality and promotes the building
of communities in Singapore.
Land Transport Authority (LTA)
LTA spearheads land transport developments in Singapore.
LTA plans the long-term transport needs of Singapore, taking care of those who drive as well as those who
take public transport. The ultimate goal - a smooth and seamless journey for all.
National Parks Board (NParks)
NParks is responsible for developing and enhancing Singapore's image
as a Garden City. NParks is tasked with providing and managing quality
parks, greenery and related services to meet the needs of both residents
and overseas visitors.
Public Utilities Board (PUB)
PUB helps to secure an adequate supply of water at affordable cost.
Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF)
SCDF is a uniformed organisation that takes charge of the provision
of emergency services to the population during peacetime and emergency.
SCDF exists to ensure the safety of the population and speedy recovery of the economy to near-normal
condition during any eventuality.
Singapore Land Authority (SLA)
SLA works with the government and industry to optimise Singapore land
resources. It ensures the best use of state lands and buildings. It
provides a board and flexible framework for implementing the government's
land policies, thus contributing to the economic and social development
of Singapore.
Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA)
URA is Singapore's national planning authority. It has a crucial role
in planning the nation's future. It prepares long-range, as well as
more detailed, local area plans for physical development and then
co-ordinates and guides efforts to bring these plans to reality.
Associations
Renovation And Decoration Advisory Centre (RADAC)
RADAC is a watchdog non-profit making voluntary body that provides
greater controls in the renovation industry as well as educates consumers
on renovation issues.
Real Estate Developers' Association of Singapore (REDAS)
REDAS comprises members from all key property developers of Singapore.
The aim is to protect and safeguard the legitimate interests of its
members. Redas.com is a one-stop value-added information centre, a
virtual community as well as an electronic marketplace that offers
a broad array of services and resources including but not limited
to property search engines, market trends, policy updates, on-line
purchases of products and services, business message exchange, and
links to other trade associations, professional bodies, government
agencies and statutory boards in Singapore and the region.
The Law Society of Singapore
The functions of The Law Society are:

to maintain and improve the standards of conduct and learning of the Legal Profession in Singapore; |
| ii) |
to represent, protect and assist members of the Legal Profession in Singapore; |
| iii) |
to protect and assist the public in Singapore in all matters touching on the Law; and |
| iv) |
to establish a scheme whereby needy persons on non-capital criminal charges can be represented by lawyers. |
